The Georgia State Fair is owned and operated by the Exchange Club of Macon, and is not tax-supported. Exchange Club members volunteer over 7000 hours each year to keep the State Fair in operation. They also sell advance tickets. Proceeds from the State Fair are returned to the community in the form of support to local charities and community service programs. The Georgia State Fair is a non-profit 501.c.3 organization and contributions are tax deductible. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about contributing.
The Officers and Board of Directors provide general guidance and direction to the Georgia State Fair, as well as the Fair's executive management. Various committee chairmen are appointed to coordinate all aspects of the Fair operation, including Exchange Club volunteer efforts during the Fair at various areas such as parking, the food booth, security, the midway, and livestock. Planning for the operation is a year-round effort. To view a list of this year's Board, click here.

The Georgia State Fair has had a positive impact on the central Georgia economy over and beyond the $1.4+ million donated to local charities. The benefits to central Georgia produced by the Fair since 1942 are substantial.
Net proceeds of each year's Fair are divided as follows:
• 50% going to the charity fund (distributed by the Exchange Club of Macon)
• 25% going to the City of Macon for the use of Central City Park
• 25% for preparation expenses for the next year's Fair
Visitors, exhibitors, and carnival operators collectively spend money in the Macon area for gasoline, food, lodging, and maintenance on their equipment, all of which benefits the area economy. For additional information, please see our Benefits page for dollar figures that have gone back into our community as a result of the Georgia State Fair!
Amusements of America provided the Midway rides for the Georgia State Fair from 1963 to 2003. Midwest Midways provided the carnival from 2004 to 2006.
